Travel Resources
In this section I want to put out a few different resources, things that aren’t exactly exciting because they don’t talk about the travel itself but rather the pre-planning and organisation that comes with international and domestic travel.
We’re talking things like: packing lists, insurance, climate guides, vaccinations and anything along those lines.
Packing lists
I will update these periodically and also leave the old ones up so that the evolution of how I travel is documented.
The only reason people write packing lists, myself included, is to try and make money from affiliates. But hey, if you want to see what camera gear I use then it’s all here for you to read along with my reasoning behind each item in the bag.
Everything has a weight and weight is super important when travelling.

Travel Health
I’ve had that many needles that I’ve lost count.
Vaccinations to me are an easy way to get a little bit of peace of mind. I have had all sorts of jabs with zero side affects, luckily I think I’ve avoided the worst of what people come down with and it’s possible these vaccinations have helped.

Climate Guides
I can’t update these, global warming changes everything but these rough guides still hold true in most places.

Visa Guides
Please note the date when these were written. I have no plans to update these and yes things do change so please be sure to verify all information before travelling anywhere.
If you don’t have a valid visa you may not be allowed to board your flight. Of course in countries where you can buy a visa on arrival this will not be an issue.
If you’re from Australia then it might be worth checking out smarttraveller but don’t forget that if you have dual citizenship, your other passport may unlock extra benefits.

Accommodation Reviews
This is a legacy category that I have no plans on adding to. There’s Booking.com for reviews as well as Hostelworld.
However since I wrote them, here are some reviews of hostels I stayed at in Southeast Asia back in 2020.
The Frame Guesthouse Review and Video Tour || Best Hostel in Penang?
The Frame Guesthouse Review The Frame guesthouse is one of the better hostels you will find in Southeast Asia. Arguably the best option for those in Penang, but definitely not the only hostel worth looking at. Take a look at the video below for a quick rundown...
South And Central America Climate Guide Table
South and Central America Climate guide for those in a hurry! When I think of researching for a holiday, the last thing that gets me excited is looking at a climate guide. Yet it can be important for many reasons. One of these is obviously for those who are...
1 Stop Shop – Southeast Asia Climate Guide Table
Why did I make a Southeast Asia climate guide? I know from experience there are numerous blog posts and websites out there with extraordinarily detailed climate guides. However for me looking through it all is way too tedious a process to put up with if you...
